Job Title: Legal Assistant Private Client and Conveyancing

Our client Stennett & Stennett is a reputable Lexcel accredited law firm and they pride themselves in providing high outstanding Client Care and quality Legal Services to their Clients whilst offering employees an enjoyable and supportive working environment. They have an excellent opportunity for a Legal Assistant who has previous experience to work within both their Private Client and Conveyancing Team and who may be looking to become qualified.

The Candidate Private Client:

* Drafting Wills and Lasting Powers of Attorney.

* Assisting with the administration of Estates, including sorting out documents, making initial enquiries and entering data on Probate software.

* Assisting with Court of Protection Applications.

* Assisting with preparation of Life Interests Trust and Discretionary Trusts.

* Completing Land Registry Application forms.

* Preparing estimates of costs using case management, updating the case management system to generate all correspondence involved in a transaction.

The Candidate Conveyancing:

* Carrying out Anti Money-Laundering (AML) checks on potential clients.

* Preparing legal documentation used in conveyancing matters including Completion Statements, Leasehold Management Packs and Land Registry documentation.

* Preparing Contract documentation for a Sale transaction.

* Liaising with Lenders and finalising sale details.

* Organising files for exchange and completion.

* Using internet banking for checking client accounts; for completions; dealing with post exchange (Exchange Memorandum), post completion work (Service of Notices, Deeds of Covenants, Licenses, stamp duty preparation and submission to file closures).

* Post completion work, including making applications to the Land Registry.

The Candidate Generally:

* Advising Clients about the progress of a matter via post, email and telephone.

* Recording chargeable and non-chargeable time.

* Entering data into Case Management System including closing files.

* Managing own and supervisor’s diary.

* Assisting with marketing and other reasonable tasks that may be required.

* Ideally 2 Years+ experience in Private Client and Conveyancing work.

* Excellent client care and communication skills.

* Strong organisation with diligence to detail.

* Ability to manage a caseload independently, supervised and as part of a team.

* Ability to follow internal quality standards and external standards e.g. Lexcel and CQS.

* IT proficiency, experience in Case Management Software an advantage to record chargeable/non time.

* Willingness to develop and expand skills and knowledge, undertaking further training as required.

Ideally live near work location Southgate, North London

Job type: Permanent, Monday to Friday

Salary Range: DOE

Statutory paid holiday plus 1 day for each completed Year of Service up to a max of 5 days.

Remote working post completion of probation period and subject to demands of the firm
