Job Title: Practice Manager

Company Overview:
My client are a dynamic legal firm operating in the mixed practice area, including criminal legal aid contracts. With a current turnover of £5.5 million and a team of approximately 40 staff members across five offices (including four small satellite offices), our main office and administrative hub are located in Camden.

Position Summary:
They are seeking an experienced and proactive Practice Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our legal firm. The successful candidate will play a vital role in managing our resources, implementing efficient processes, and ensuring the smooth functioning of our diverse legal practice.

Staff Management:

Lead, motivate, and manage a team of approximately 40 staff members.

Coordinate recruitment, training, and performance management processes.

Foster a positive work environment that encourages collaboration and professional development.

Operational Oversight:

Implement and improve operational processes to enhance overall efficiency.

Work closely with department heads to ensure seamless collaboration across different practice areas.

Regularly review and update policies and procedures to align with industry best practices.

Facilities Management:

Oversee the management of five offices, including the main office in Camden and four satellite offices.

Coordinate maintenance, security, and other facility-related activities.

Compliance and Legal Aid Contract Management:

Ensure compliance with legal regulations and industry standards.

Manage and oversee the execution of criminal legal aid contracts.

Liaise with relevant authorities and agencies to address compliance-related matters.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Practice Manager, preferably in a legal firm.

Strong financial acumen and experience in budget management.

Excellent leadership and people management skills.

Knowledge of legal aid contracts and compliance requirements.

Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to adapt to a dynamic and fluctuating work environment.
